Licence Lens respects your privacy and collects as little personal data as possible. This notice sets out what we collect, why, and how we handle it in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. It applies to visitors to cnkit.co.uk.
We are an independent information site. We do not run betting accounts, we do not take payments, and we have no commercial reason to build a profile of you.
Information we collect
You can read this site without giving us any personal details. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, which we use only to reply. Our web server, like most, records limited technical information such as the pages requested and a truncated IP address, used to keep the site secure and working. We do not ask you to create an account.
Cookies we use
We keep cookies to a minimum and use only those necessary for the site to function and, where relevant, to understand in aggregate which pages are read. We do not use advertising or operator-tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and the site will continue to work without them.
How long we keep data
We hold personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was given. Emails are kept while a query is open and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then deleted. Technical server logs are retained for a short period for security and then removed or anonymised.
Your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive a copy of it. Because we collect so little, most requests are simple to meet. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.

Our guides link to a small number of official sources, such as the Gambling Commission, GAMSTOP and GamCare. Those sites have their own privacy notices, and this notice does not cover them. We do not link to betting operators or accept their advertising.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes in the law or in how the site works. When we do, we will change the review date, and significant changes will be described in plain terms. This notice was last reviewed on 25 September 2026.
